Day 60 ICAD Final ICAD for the group...but....

Day 60 ICAD (Final Index Card A Day) for the group...

But, there is going to be another called Daily Paper Prompt over on DaisyYellowArt over on Facebook.  I joined and going to start figuring out how I'm going to do this...either look for a journal or create my own and bind it all with my cinch machine.  I am hoping to keep doing the ICAD's for the rest of the year too.  This helps so much keep the stress down off my shoulders and feel great creating... I can't draw, might try doodling but I always got my many many stamps here too... lol   ;-)

Another oldie but Goodie Book that I learned from...

Love love love this book too... I learned a lot...

Don't forget MaryJo McGraw and Dee Gruening...

Love these women too... I learned from them as well... I have all of MaryJo McGraw's books and also her dvd and all of Dee Gruening's video (which I transfered and put on dvd's)

Envelope Art Book...good fun too

Love this book that I got yrs ago too...how about you...do you remember?  And all the loads of ideas plus all the heavy duty templates made with that heavy duty stencil material for envies... oh what fun...

And Let's not forget these fun books that I learned from...

Love these books too...remember Michael Jacobs?

What ever happened to Grace Taormina RubberStampede?

What happened to Grace Taormina  RubberStampede?

Remember... I loved their stamps and also loved Grace... Her book is in with many many of my collections that I've bought when I started stamping 31 yrs ago...  I miss the old days and the old stampers...

Remember "Perfect Pop -Up" book from RSM?

Aw...My first magazine that I subscribed to was RSM (RubberStampMaddness) and I saw this book advertised there in RSM and I bought it.  This is a great basic and advance Pop-Up Book, way before Sizzix dies and Vagabond and the electric die cutters.... This has 40 pages that shows illustrations and also 12 heavy duty templates for all kinds of Pop Ups for your inside of your cards.  I love this book and think I will make a pop card...

Remember Convention Pins... All you old time stampers... you out there...

Any old Time Stampers Remember Trading Convention Pins?

I have a ton and I mean a ton of Convention Pins in a big box that I pull out of my closet, and sit on the couch and just go through everyone of them.  I'm planning on getting a cheap couple of baking sheets and spray painting them and sticking magnets on the back and hang them on these pans... They are so much fun to look at...   Anywho... Here go two I made for one convention... Remember "Paper Clay"...lol  and I also remember buying a laminating machine which I still have under my bed to make convention pins too and also bought the book from Stampington "Pins"...

Everyone should recognize her... It's Suze Weinberg..".Invented the original Hot Pot"..

Convention Fun... "Suze Weinberg "

I took her class many many yrs ago and let me tell you, it was the best... She handed out a 20 techniques book which I still have and refer to from her class, we did so many techniques that she couldn't show them all in the two hour class, that's why she handed out her booklets to everyone who took her class.  I also took my book along that she wrote.... Picture down below.  She is the one I think who came up with the Original Hot Pot... I still have my first one which is round, way before the other one she came up with the triangular one.  Which is now sold by Ranger.  Aw memories...lol  I have to laugh when I see these pictures of myself ...compared to then and compared to Now the way I look.... I lost a whole person ...lol almost 300 lbs (261 lbs.) now down to 118 lbs.  :-)

Memories of a long time ago... Stamping Conventions....

Convention memories.... From Yrs ago.... I took my first class at at the convention in Cleveland Ohio "Adventures In Stamping" many many yrs ago... I bought Michele Abel's first book, and then I bought her second book at her class and got it autographed and a picture taken with her.  She is sweet and talented.

Peerless Watercolors...

This is where I bought mine several several yrs ago....Forgot to include this in with the other photo...

My Peerless Water Color Papers Bought 15 yrs or more ago...

Peerless Watercolor papers...

Don't know what all the fuss is all about... "What's old is new again" ....lol   I've been seeing so much lately of these... I do love them when I bought them 15 or more yrs ago... They can be taken with you and all you need is a little supply of water...water bottle or aqua water brushes... I got mine at one of the conventions at "Stamp La Jolla" booth when she was demoing them.  I made mine in a book so they are stored well and don't take up a lot of room... I used my Rollabind at the time, way before the Cinch or Bind it All machines were made... Take a look...

The size of my heavy duty Peerless papers are:
2 1/2 x 3 1/2.  Love the size.

Day 46 ICAD I call this my "Tarnished Metal"

Day 46 ICAD (Index Card A Day)

I was doing my ICAD today, I made a few "artistic mistakes" which turned out to be "happy mistakes".  I call this "Tarnished Metal".  I had other pictures in my head when I first started, but you know how those pics in our heads sometimes just don't turn out to look like they should on our medium that we are working on. So with that all being said, this is how my ICAD turned out instead, and I call this my "Tarnished Metal"....

Day 45 ICAD (Index Card A Day)

I've  been wanting some new snail mail address labels for a while now... But can't seem to find any I like...So, today I was up at Wal-farts and bought a pack of Avery blank snail labels.  I was out and thought what the heck... Maybe get my snail addy label mojo back... And this is what I came up with... I made a sheet of them... I will probably make others, but will be different... I get bored with address labels so I like to make them different each time...  What do you think?  Do you use Address labels and or create your own for your mail art / pen pals letters?

Beach Theme Mail Art...

Beach Theme Mail Art ...

Hi, I'm hosting a "Beach Theme Mail Art Swap".  I did a little playing and pulled out some of stamps and toys... I used my "Cloud stencil " stencil which I bought several yrs ago at a convention in Cleveland, it's made out of the old heavy duty plastic that stencil were made out of.  A lady hand cut them and sold them and they make wonderful clouds as you can see here on the envy.  I also used some old stamps and the palm tree is from A Stamp In The Hand.  I took my H2o's and stamped the Palm Tree with those to give it some nice shimmer and color to it.  The back I used my 2 Rollagraph wheels from All Night Media, the one rollagraph wheel is "Waves" (one in blue) and the second wheel is the seashells and sand" (in purple).  I used my Perfect pearls for the seashell stamp.

Day 38 ICAD (Index Card A Day)

Day 38 ICAD  (Index Card A Day)

What can I say, I love pears and these Pears are my fave... I think...lol  This stamp is A Stamp In The Hand Stamp.  I used Duo Adhesive from US Artquest....It's really good adhesive for this type of material... "Gold Leafing, or Magic Flakes... whatever you want to call this stuff.  I spread the Duo on the stamp and then stamped on a piece of glossy pinkish cs and proceeded to put my magic leafing on top of the stamped image.   I then stamp the wording across the stamped magic flake pears.
Here goes the stamped image of what it looks like before the magic flakes were on top...

Happy 4th of July 2014 ICAD (Index Card A Day)

I used lots of different types of embossing powders along with some Pearl Ex in the background and white embossed my stamped images.  I wanted the fireworks to look like they were behind the Statue of Liberty...  Happy 4th of July Everyone. :)
